The Challenge

Create an end of year report for the instantaneous volume of several stockpiles at an industrial facility. The scanning needed to be done in an afternoon as the plant was busy and needed to fulfill their day to day activities.  We would also need to generate a colume and topological stufy for the repot

 

 

 

 

The Solution

We used an aerial photogrammetry approach to quickly gather the 2D pictures as the start to our process. These pictures are processed into a 3D model, that model is geo-referenced, and then volumes are determined on a per pile basis

  • Less than 20 minutes each acquisition time per site.
  • Passive multi-view photogrammetry for model creation
  • RTK world reference points captured and referenced to put model into appropriate world coordinate system
  • Precise ground estimation for highest quality volume estimates
